The Operations Central team for CertainTeed Canada, is looking for their next Process Champion! Reporting to the Quality and Process Senior Manager for Interior Products Group, you will be responsible for process support for manufacturing operations across the 5 Canadian gypsum drywall plants.
The main role
As our Process Champion, you will support the plants’ cost reduction initiatives, and drive change to improve performance and sustainability, with pace and in line with the business context.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with the plant teams to improve communication and support them with hands on expertise when required.
You will also work closely with R&D, Product Management, Purchasing, Engineering, and other Departments in the Saint-Gobain group, to develop new products, qualify raw materials, implement capital projects, etc.
- Identify, plan, prioritize and execute process-related opportunities for cost savings and CO2 emissions reduction.
- Work effectively with Global Process experts to drive process improvement programs and evaluate technologies that improve plants’ technical capabilities.
- Work effectively with R&D, Purchasing and Plant teams to trial and qualify new or improved raw materials.
- Work effectively with Product Management, R&D, Engineering and Plant teams on New Product Developments and Industrialization.
- Assist with the implementation of capital projects related to productivity, cost, quality or energy-efficiency improvement.
- Provide timely Process Assistance to plants to resolve Production and Quality issues by using good troubleshooting principles.
- Conduct technical training to plant employees with a Technical, Process or Quality function.
- Compile and Benchmark best practices so that information can be shared easily between the plants.

A central position to coordinate between all Gypsum sites in Canada; a great opportunity to have a polyvalent role with travels.
E xtra information
This position is based in Mississauga near Toronto, with travel to all Gypsum plants in Canada located in Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver.
This is a 24-month mission.

- Master’s degree in general engineering, chemical or process engineering, or any related field.
- Industrial work experience within Technical, R&D or manufacturing areas.
- Experience with World Class Manufacturing methods and tools.
- Project management, prioritization, multitasking.
- Analytical skills with quality and process test results, savings calculation etc.
- Leadership and motivational role to drive change.
- Excellent teamworking, collaboration, interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication in English and French.
- Previous experience in gypsum manufacturing is a plus.
- Previous experience with Industry 4.0, data science (python), data analytics (PowerBI) is a plus.
