Design Project Manager – Civil (Water / Wastewater Construction) – Burnaby, BC
Maple Reinders is looking to add an experienced Design Project Manager to the Major Projects team. The successful candidate will focus on projects in our Civil division, leading technical development of RFP proposals and acting as a bridge between pursuit and execution teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to the pursuit team.
- Assist in developing strategies, plans, and schedules for winning RFPs.
- Support the RFP stage with technical inputs.
- Lead division resources in preparing estimates for pursuits.
- Manage design consultants to ensure timely, cost‑effective, and within‑budget design.
- Identify concerns related to constructability, cost, and schedule.
- Present technical aspects of design to clients.
- Develop relationships with design and technical firms and assist in firm selection.
- Attend industry events and present as required.
- Disseminate pursuit information to project teams.
- Embed in the execution team to finalize design and communicate plans.
- Provide advisory support during construction.
- Coordinate and manage value engineering sessions to maximize savings.
- Assist the execution team in developing commissioning plans and support commissioning.
Qualifications
University degree in Engineering or Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 10 years experience as a Project Manager, Construction Administrator, or Design Project Manager.Experience in Industrial, Commercial, Water / Wastewater, Energy projects, and civil infrastructure.Well‑rounded knowledge of civil, structural, process, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.Professional designation preferred – P.Eng and / or Gold Seal.Proficient MS Office and Windows‑based applications; knowledge of BIM360, SharePoint, and MS Project.Valid driver’s licence.Proven leadership abilities.Benefits
