Job Title : Project Manager : Applications / Architecture

Location : Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Regina

Type : Contract

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager with extensive Applications / Architecture implementations experience.

Role

  • Manage projects to maintain and expand Operational Data Environments and develop new reporting functionality and interfaces with other applications.
  • Manage project sponsors within timeframes and budget.
  • Ensure solutions are cost effective and align with architectures as well as meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more complex projects to deliver the agreed function within specified timeframes and budgets in accordance with guidelines, standards and procedures
  • Identify skills and abilities required to successfully complete projects; manage resources and manage performance against deliverables of the project(s).
  • Identify opportunities, develop & implement processes to improve methods within IT.
  • Identify opportunities to ensure quality of deliverables within the applications or services environment.
  • Develop & manage budgets to ensure their effectiveness.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Education : University Degree : PMP certification
  • 7 to 10 years of project management experience with advanced experience in applications and infrastructure implementations. Experience must include a successful record of delivering projects based on customer requirements and include all aspects of real project management from managing staff, planning using project tools, organizing resources, team management, managing project status, earned value performance management and financial reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated project management and project leadership skills.
  • Strong Team building and leadership management skills
  • Excellent organization skills – a demonstrated history of effective time management, coordination with stakeholders, managing customer (internal or external) expectations, ability to write in simple succinct English, a logical approach to information categorization, and work breakdown structures.
  • Excellent facilitation skills – ability to train, facilitate workshops, host information gathering sessions, make presentations.
  • Good understanding of application programming, database and system design
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies.
  • Knowledge of service oriented design, development and deployment.
  • Experience in report development and reporting tools
  • Keeps abreast of current and emerging technology, development and / or operations tools.
