Hours Of Work : Equivalent to 6 hours per day during student days

Duties

In addition to those duties outlined in the job description, duties include supporting students with diverse needs and / or high behavioral needs. The successful applicant may be required to perform the following :

• Lifting - Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without a lift and up to 120 pounds with a 2 person lift or mechanical lift
• Transport students (personal vehicle may be required to transport)
• Attend to personal hygiene and medical needs as required
• Prepare and plan student-based life skills and academic programming under direction of teacher
• Focus on successfully transitioning the student to be able to work with other students and adults
• Focus on behaviour and safety plan created specifically for students as required
• Supervision of intensive need student(s) as well as small groups of students as required

Salary & Benefits

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the currently negotiated SEIU-West Collective Agreement as listed on our website. The starting wage for this position is currently $20.77 / hour along with a full benefit package and an employer defined pension plan.
