Job Description
Apprentice Lift Mechanics are primarily responsible for assisting in the repair and maintenance of ski lifts. They also assist in daily operations in conjunction with the Lift Operations crew. They may also be called upon to assist in any other maintenance or repairs that fall within the scope of their skill set

Completing apprenticeshipLift 151, 152, 153 coursesFamiliar with the CSA Z-98 codeGaining knowledge in : hydraulic, hydrostatic and low voltage systemsGaining experience in : rigging, hoisting, welding and cuttingBuilding inventory of necessary toolsDuties and Responsibilities :
To perform all duties assigned by Lift Maintenance Manager and Lead HandAssist with ensuring all lifts are maintained to CSA Z-98 code and manufacturer’s recommendationsAssist in emergency situationsReport and rectify any unsafe conditionsKeep a clean, organized and safe work environmentAssist in the development and evolution of safe work practicesAdherence to safe work practices and company policyUse courtesy and respect when dealing with management, staff, co-workers, and guests at all timesRead and interpret manuals and drawingsDocumentation of all maintenance performedExercise safe rigging practicesMaintenance and cleaning of tools, shop and shop yardMaintenance of stationary machinesLearn to diagnose and effect repairs on :
Line machineryTension systemsGrips and CarriersConveyors and conveying equipmentDiesel and gasoline enginesElectric motorsHydraulic and Hydrostatic systems, and componentsGearboxesBelt and chain drivesBraking systemsBearings and bushingsPumps, compressors and blowersGrooming equipmentWage Range : $25.00 - $39.00 / hr Depending on the year of apprenticeship
Physical Demands :
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb and lie down for the duration of the shift.Must be able to operate a snowmobileAbility to lift and carry 25kg (55lbs) at times.Must be able to kneel, bend, twist, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill duties.Must be able to perform a loaded twist (torqueing a wrench)Be able to work outside in all weather conditionsRequires grasping, tool use, writing, standing, sitting, driving, shoveling, repetitive motions, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.#J-18808-Ljbffr
