Who We Are Looking For :

If you’re an experienced Architectural Technologist who is passionate about design and the Alberta home building industry – this may be the position for you! We’re looking for someone who leverages their creative talent and technical expertise to design the best homes for our customers.

You enjoy working on a broad range of projects and are highly creative, technical, organized, and detail oriented. You enjoy sharing your ideas and appreciate good architectural design. You understand the balance between interior design flow and its relationship to exterior styling. You seek to positively impact company culture.

What You Will be Responsible For :

Maintaining familiarity with architectural and interior design trends and contributing to pushing the design envelope at Shane Homes

Working as part of a specialized project team to develop duplex and / or townhome projects

Working on a full range of product types : single family homes, zero lot lines, duplexes and fee simple row houses

Able to create new complete construction details as requested

Review contract documents and customer redlines to make customer changes to standard plans

Review & understand Architectural control guidelines

Communicate changes and / or errors effectively to Area Managers

Preparing custom working drawings for Customer homes, including plot plans

Provide complete work order packages to estimators

In this role we value (Qualifications & Skills) :

Post-Secondary Diploma in Architectural Technologies or other related field

3+ years of residential drafting experience in Canadian New Home construction

Previous experience working at a Home Building company

Experience and thorough knowledge of AutoCAD Architecture and / or Revit experience is considered an asset

Strong communication skills and the ability to work and mentor within a team

Basic knowledge in structural design is considered an asset

A high attention to detail and thirst for learning new skills

Experience in residential construction processes, building materials, permit processes, etc

A solid understanding of the NBC AE 2019 and current land use bylaws for Calgary and Airdrie

A self-starter attitude with a willingness to problem-solve

Organized and able to manage time effectively
