Vocational Support Worker

Position Summary

We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Mental Health & Addiction Services department.

Under the supervision of the Community Mental Health Team Leader, provides vocational rehabilitation opportunities to individuals with a serious and persistent mental illness and works as a member of an inter-disciplinary team across programs.

Shift Rotation / Hours of work : Days - 08 : 00 to 16 : 00, Rotating

The main industries in Terrace are communications, transportation, and natural resources. The population is approximately 12,700.

Qualfications

• Diploma in Human Services field with completion of courses in Rehabilitation Theory, Marketing and Job Coaching.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience working with individuals with a disability.
• Or a combination of relevant education and experience.
• Valid Class 5 BC driver's license.
• Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR.

Skills and Abilities :

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to assess client vocational needs.
• Ability to organize workload.
• Ability to work with public.
