Position Overview
The Deputy Site Manager (DSM) at the Cormorant Main Operating Base (MOB) in Greenwood, NS reports to the Site Manager (SM) and coordinates all activities supporting aircraft scheduled for maintenance, second‑level maintenance shops, material inventory and control, aircraft maintenance support equipment (AMSE) and tool control. As the Person Responsible for Assignment of Authority (PRAA), he administers the technical training program in support of the maintenance qualifications and authorizations of MOB technicians.
What You Will Do
- Provide supervision to employees.
- Assign crew shift schedule and aircraft maintenance schedule.
- Schedule mission‑capable aircraft to meet flight schedule.
- Brief Site Manager on aircraft maintenance.
- Perform Acting Site Manager, PASMA, PRAA duties.
- Co‑chair and participate as a member of the OH&S Committee.
- Liaise with CSC.
- Plan and supervise maintenance on aircraft.
- Ensure personnel adhere to airworthiness rules and standards.
- Provide input on succession planning, training and advancement.
- Liaise with Operations on aircraft availability, serviceability, schedule and support requirements.
- Fly in support of maintenance, ferry and deployed operations.
- Select personnel to support initial deployments and subsequent reliefs. Deploy to other MOB and / or remote sites, mobile repair parties and ferry flights.
- Provide on‑job training to employees.
- Provide mentorship to Crew Chiefs (CC). Develop Crew Chiefs for succession planning.
- Attend training for trade and professional development.
- Ensure personnel complete all assigned training.
- Ensure hangar, shop, stores and office areas are clean.
- Enforce and adhere to policies, procedures and directives established by the Company.

What You Will Bring
Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including power plant, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures, avionics and power generation and distribution systems.Thorough knowledge of airworthiness requirements as defined in the Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM) and Maintenance Process Manual (MPM).Thorough knowledge of Flight Safety reporting procedures.Thorough knowledge of the Company Quality System.Perform Quality System management, as required, in relief of the QSSC.Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints and Standard Plant Procedures.Ability to use standard computer programs and such specialized ones as may be necessary in the performance of the duties.Possess and maintain a valid driver’s licence to operate company vehicles.Graduate of a CH 149 type maintenance course.Minimum of 5 years experience in helicopter maintenance.Progressive experience in the management and leadership of an aircraft maintenance organization, with experience in supporting operational flying programmes and heavy maintenance operations and support sections / shops.Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.What We Will Do For You
