POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Coordinator’s primary role will be the tracking, coordination and project management of various capital / operational projects along with the project management of new installations through a team-based approach. While reporting to maintenance supervisors, the position will be required to effectively schedule site visits as required to prioritise these projects. This position will provide technical expertise, including the review of sites / projects to determine the required repairs / installations to be completed in the most cost effective and timely manner while adhering to SCHC quality and material standards. In addition, this position will determine scopes of work, obtain required quotes, specify material selections and confirm any code violations, errors in construction and / or to approve work within County policies and applicable legislation. This position may also assist maintenance supervisors to attend County led meetings between contractors to resolve disputes, deficiencies, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not listed in order of priority)
1. Review suites / sites / projects, quotations, scope of work, etc. for completeness, cost estimates, and requested repairs.
2. Project manage capital / operational projects along with new installations.
3. Schedule site visits and inspections as required to review, comment, and approve requested work.
4. Review and explain work, quotations, and renovation processes, with SCHC maintenance staff.
5. Schedule site visits and inspections to review projects / new installations to ensure work is completed properly and according to planned timelines, as per applicable legislation, with County approved standards and materials.
6. Create reports identifying any issues and effectively communicate issues with pertinent stakeholders.
7. Provide advice and guidance on projects including site inspections, direct contractors in completion of work; inspect work in progress for adherence to specifications by contractors and final inspection reports for deficiencies in all work.
8. Provide advice and guidance to resolve disputes and concerns between County and municipalities, contractors and / or consultants, and / or other stakeholders as required.
9. Make recommendations on energy efficient products and methods and provide technical advice and guidance to expedite repairs and / or construction when required.
10. Support Housing programs as required by conducting rent supplement, housing allowance, and Ontario Renovate inspections as required.
11. Utilize County financial systems to assist in payments as approved.
12. Develop and maintain effective relationships with other departments, managers, and fire departments, alarm companies, building inspectors, engineers, architects, consultants and all trades.
13. Arrange meetings, prepare agendas, and manage personal calendars as required.
14. Participate in committees as required.
15. Perform other duties as assigned, including redeployment in emergency situations.
16. Comply with Provincial and County occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
17. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
