Community Occupational Therapist – Durham, ON

As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will work in Ontario communities treating clients who have experienced mental stress injuries, motor vehicle accidents, or traumatic psychological injuries. This includes:
- Conducting in‑vivo exposure therapy and behavioural activation for first responders and other trauma survivors
- Using virtual reality and other evidence‑based interventions to promote mental‑health outcomes
- Assessing and treating clients in our Complex Auto program, including ergonomic, concussion, cognitive rehabilitation and mental‑health interventions
- Providing ‘start to finish’ care from in‑home and hospital discharge assessments to ongoing rehabilitation
- Working with a mixed caseload or focusing on a specialty area, depending on your interests

What you need to be successful:
- Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (travel up to 1–1.5 hours radius)
- Willingness to provide in‑vivo OT treatment in various settings (homes, workplaces, community)
- Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development
- Strong organizational, critical‑thinking, decision‑making, and analytic skills
- Excellent oral and written communication, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders
- Experience in the private sector, especially auto‑sector legislation and mental‑health, is an asset
