Job Title : Technical Services Engineer II
Location : Nisku / Edmonton, Alberta, T9E 1K7 (Hybrid)
Assignment Duration : 6 months (with strong potential to convert to full-time)
Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week - Standard Shift
Work Arrangement : Hybrid (office, branch visits, and limited field support)
Position Summary
The Technical Services Engineer II provides pre- and post-sales technical support for engineered products and customer solutions. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Operations teams to ensure technically sound, customer-focused solutions throughout the full sales-to-production lifecycle.
This position is well-suited for early-career engineers or new graduates who are eager to build long-term technical expertise, gain customer-facing experience, and grow within a global engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Sales Support
Serve as a technical point of contact for customers via email and phone
Support sales teams by providing technical input on engineered equipment and applications
Review customer requirements and assist in determining appropriate technical solutions
Participate in discussions with customers regarding drawings, specifications, and scope of work
Pre-Sales Support
Provide technical support during feasibility, design, tender, and bidding phases
Review and interpret tender documents, technical specifications, drawings, and proposals
Assist with quotations, technical documentation, and bid packages
Ensure proposed solutions meet customer needs and engineering requirements
Order Processing & Production Support
Receive and review customer purchase orders
Follow established internal processes to validate and release orders for production
Support drawing development and revisions related to customer orders
Coordinate with internal engineering, production, and project teams to ensure smooth execution
Post-Sales & Project Support
Prepare and review technical submittals and drawings for approval and compliance
Respond to customer technical inquiries and drawing-related questions
Assist project managers with technical problem-solving and solution delivery
Support customer training and application engineering activities as needed
Technical & Professional Skills
Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings and specifications
Basic knowledge of CAD, CAM, or CAE systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable interacting with customers, sales representatives, and internal teams
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Collaborative, customer-focused mindset
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline), or equivalent practical experience
1 3 years of relevant experience preferred (new graduates welcome if eager to learn and grow long-term)
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally
Preferred Qualifications
Background in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Automation Engineering
Exposure to pumps, hydraulics, motors, or fluid handling systems is a strong asset
Experience supporting technical sales, project execution, or engineered equipment solutions
Work Environment & Travel
Hybrid role combining office work, branch visits, and limited field interaction
Local travel for branch visits, sales meetings, and training
No long-distance travel required during the first 6 months
Occasional light lifting may be required
Exposure to industrial, construction, and utility environments as needed
