On behalf of our client, Zymeworks, Swim Recruiting is seeking a well-rounded Financial Planning & Analysis Consultant with deep experience using the SAP suite- specifically S4 / Hana and SAC (SAP Cloud Analytics). This contract will have a 6-month term to start, with the chance extend into 2025. Fantastic opportunity to further hone your strategic FP&A skills in a very complex and fast-paced global public company. Preference for the Consultant to be based in the Vancouver HQ, but open to candidates across Canada and in Pacific North-West United States.

What - the Position :

Swim Recruiting has been engaged by Zymeworks to identify and hire an Analyst, Corporate FP&A on a full-time consulting basis, with an initial 6-month term. The Analyst will be joining an FP&A team of 5, including a Director, Managers, and Analysts. The new Analyst will primarily support the G&A function (although may also assist the R&D function at times) and will interact with leaders across various corporate departments.

What - the Key Responsibilities :

Develops and maintains monthly P&L, forecast and budget in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
Develops and maintains dashboards within SAC.
Holistically manages multiple models within SAC, identifying differences and reconciling where applicable.
Creates, updates and schedules data actions in SAC to ensure the alignment of information across the organization.
Uses large datasets and employs the use of cross calculations in SAC for the ease of presentation of financial information.
Assists in preparation of senior management presentations that clearly present financial information to operational and financial leaders.
Assists in G&A business partner meetings to identify financial inputs and changes in annual operating plans and quarterly latest estimates.
Conducts ad-hoc financial analyses for strategic and operational decisions.
Fosters effective and collaborative working relationships with fellow employees, management, and external partners.

Who - the Candidate :

Systems :

Experience using SAP S4 / Hana and SAP Cloud Analytics tool (SAC) is required. Experience with SAP Ariba is preferred.

Advanced proficiency in Excel-based analytical work, including financial modeling and formula building.

Experience with both the front and back end of SAP is preferred, including master data management (but this can be trained, if the Consultant has all the other key pieces).

Education :

Relevant University Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications such as CPA, CMA, CFA, MBA Finance, SAP Certification, etc., will be viewed very favourably!

Work Experience :

At least 4 years of relevant and recent FP&A work experience in a complex company.

Experience in biotechnology / pharmaceutical / life sciences sector is a significant asset, or perhaps a science education or deep personal interest in the field.

Soft Skills :

Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-paced, fast-changing environment.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and high level of comfort presenting analysis and information to senior management.

High attention to detail, a strong work ethic and intense focus on accuracy and accountability. Self-starter and ability to multi-task while performing a variety of complex tasks.

Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality on matters that require discretion.

Where :

Zymeworks is headquartered in Vancouver’s vibrant Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, close to many shops, restaurants, and amenities. There is a preference for the new FA to be based in Greater Vancouver and working from the office on a hybrid basis, which is the case with the rest of the FP&A team. That said, we are very open to highly qualified candidates living anywhere in Canada- or perhaps even candidates living in Washington, Oregon, or California.

How Much :

Hourly consulting rate commensurate with FP&A experience, skills, and relevant education- please discuss further with SWIM. For now, the range is anticipated to be $40 to $54 an hour, plus vacation pay.
