Located in downtown Toronto, the largest and most culturally diverse city in Canada and on the territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples , the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in electrical engineering with a focus on communications, networking, and / or signal processing, effective July 1, 2025, subject to final budgetary approval. The successful candidate will engage in a combination of teaching, scholarly research, and service duties while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities. Teaching duties will entail teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, supervision of graduate and undergraduate students, curriculum development, and contribution to the curricular strength of the department. The successful candidate will develop a strong, innovative, independent research program that is externally funded and that produces cutting-edge, high-quality results. The candidate is expected to provide service to the University and engineering profession. The candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering by the appointment date.

The Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering offers three undergraduate programs to about 2500 undergraduate students and three graduate (MASc., M.Eng., and Ph.D.) programs to about 250 graduate students. The Department is home to 5 Canada Research Chair (CRC) holders and 4 IEEE Fellow members.
