As a Clinical Nurse Educator, Nursing Professional Practice, you will use principles of adult learning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate education and development needs of staff. The incumbent facilitates, coordinates and supports the implementation of educational initiatives for in-service / continuing education. Other duties include promoting and reporting on the clinical competence of staff and supporting nursing staff, Internationally Educated Nurses, new grads and other clinical staff with orientation and skill training. Provincial travel is required.
Description :
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications :
Must be able to travel provincially. Med / Surg or Emergency experience.
Previous teaching and mentorship experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
As required.
