Overview of the Role :

The CI Site Lead play a key role in promoting continuous improvement in Saputo Canada operations. The CI Site Lead provides support for the sites located in Alberta – Edmonton & Red Deer and is responsible for identifying, driving, and sustaining long term improvement in each site.

The CI Site Lead reports directly to the Edmonton Plant Manager. The CI Site Lead must continually challenge and support the Alberta sites to ensure that the Saputo Operation Excellence System is sustained and that the financial goals are achieved.

The CI Site Lead is a true CI Ambassador. It provides daily floor presence to coach, influence and implement improvements. It ensures the Saputo Operation Excellence System standards are being correctly applied and followed by embodies its principles and executing yearly internal audits.

Schedule : Monday to Friday - 8 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm MST

Salary : $76,265 - $100,100

How you will make contributions that matter :

  • Be site owner for IoTORQ / OEE. Ensure proper implementation of the effective implementation and use of Saputo production systems (IoTORQ) and key improvement modules and tools (ref. Saputo Operation Excellence System / Industrial Performance Pillar.
  • Ensure proper measurement of plant OEE within manufacturing, which includes manage the Saputo Production System (ioTORQ) guarantying it is up to date. Be accountable for the National OEE reporting of your site.
  • Monitor plant capacity. Ensure that the impact of complexity is properly understood and managed and proactively engage in optimizing asset utilization.
  • Developing the plant master plan in collaboration with the plant manager and all relevant functions. This master plan describes where the plant needs to be in 3-5 years in terms of performance, processes, and culture.
  • Be part of the plant yearly budget identifying opportunities for improvement and in partnership with plant accountant, tracking and achieving agreed site benefits and report at periodical basis to CI Corporate.
  • Drive site initiatives - under CI Corporate coaching - support investigation or root cause analysis and lead small to medium LSS projects.
  • Analyze daily production performance data. Ensure that the plant's impact on supply chain performance results in the lowest total delivered cost. Help site leadership to identify and prioritize losses and opportunities.
  • Execute yearly internal Saputo Operation Excellence System health checks and support the external (corporate) health checks as needed.
  • Be site trainer for IoTORQ and Saputo Operation Excellence System / Industrial Performance Pillar. Ensure necessary training in continuous improvement Modules and Tools.
  • Build and maintain the level of CI competence in the plant through development of key personnel and exposure to projects.
  • Support Production, Warehouse and Maintenance Departments in their CI journey.
  • Travel between Edmonton and Red Deer, and other destinations as required.
  • Other duties as required.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent education in operations management, logistics or warehousing.
  • Minimum of 3 of experience in in manufacturing operations.
  • Proven leadership and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, or higher, certification is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of CI Modules and Tools. Ability to disseminate them within the plant.
  • Ability to manage projects to achieve improvement targets. CAMP, PMP or agile certification is an asset.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to influence and work at all levels of an organization skills to operate effectively in the plant without line responsibilities.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo to promote improvement within the plant.
  • Strong leadership, effective communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work across multiple functions.
  • Ability to lead and motivate people to meet and exceed plant improvement targets.
