Job Description Role Overview : The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of an interdisciplinary team that delivers comprehensive care to clients in Detox and addictions residential treatment. Responsibilities :
- Perform clinical nursing assessments during patient intake and discharge processes, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Gather medical, mental health, and substance use history from clients.
- Collect urine samples for substance screening, HCG testing, or urinalysis, as required.
- Administer medications according to organizational and pharmaceutical guidelines, providing support to the Nursing Team and Physician as directed.
- Collaborate with clients to develop recovery strategies and provide empathetic listening and support.
- Monitor and record vital signs, administer scheduled and PRN medications, and perform First Aid as needed.
- Document nursing assessments, care, behaviors, and progress in the KIPU electronic medical record system.
- Communicate with physicians regarding acute medical concerns, medication orders, detox protocols, patient progress, and discharge prescriptions.
- Schedule, coordinate, and document physician and lab appointments.
- Participate in quality assurance programs, assist in policy development, and prepare reports as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, common areas, and high-touch surfaces. Requirements :
- Valid and current LPN license with the College of Nurses of British Columbia.
- Trauma-informed training / experience is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License in good standing.
- Clear Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Justice. Benefits :
