As the Group Medical Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating the unique medical insurance needs of our clients while maintaining awareness of trends that affect the business.
You will interact with various clients and stakeholders to ensure the service needs of our clients are achieved.
How you will create impact :
Assessing group insurance applications to determine risk in accordance with company guidelines and cost-effective procedures, while ensuring service levels are met.
Examining, reviewing and documenting an accurate and concise summary of pertinent client information, including final decisions, remarks and recommendations that align with company policy and expectation.
Utilizing all applicable manuals and guidelines to understand product and procedural requirements needed to assess client applications, make decisions and determine if escalation is required.
Providing professional written and verbal communications to clients and stakeholders in a timely manner, while ensuring strict confidentiality of personal information is maintained.

To join our team :
You have 1-3 years of work experience in a related field.
You have a post-secondary education in a related discipline.
You have or are working towards the Health Insurance Associate (HIA) or Associate Customer Service (ACS) designation(s).
You have expert knowledge of medical terminology and underwriting fundamentals.
You have working knowledge and understanding of medical conditions, symptoms and treatments.
