Job description

Role : Sr. Accountant Assurance

Location : Edmonton, Alberta

Salary : $75k CAD - $85k CAD + Benefits

Positions : 3

Team Size to Manage : 3

Reporting To : Assurance Manager

Location Type : Head Office

Skills - Must Have : Canadian CPA designation or CFE completed Current work experience at another CPA firm in Canada 3+ years of experience in audit, reviews, compilations engagements- and / or tax (T1's and T2's) for Private or Public Company clients Strong experience in ASPE, IFRS and CAS standards Must be able to work 5 days in office in Edmonton

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Advising on solution focused recommendations to clients
  • Begin to lead and execute client engagements, specifically audits and reviews
  • As needed, preparation of audit working papers, reviews, and compilation engagements
  • Begin to review small and medium engagements
  • Responsible for maintaining current client relationships
  • Obtain a basic understanding of our clients' businesses and learn their best practices
  • Represent PAND at client industry events

Education & Experience

2 to 4 years of progressive professional accounting experience

  • Understanding of accounting and auditing standards and principles, tax regulations and legal documents in a financial environment
  • Experience leading and mentoring CPA students
  • CPA designation or near completion of CPA Skills & Knowledge
  • Business acumen
  • Proven relationship builder
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Suite
