The Deskside Services team provides second level support, maintenance, and planning for SaskEnergy’s desktop, notebook, smartphone and printer environment, resourcing for ongoing projects supporting the above infrastructure as well as maintaining a tech support desk providing end user walk up support service.
SaskEnergy’s Desktop infrastructure is currently based on Windows 10 Enterprise edition, and Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise.
The Deskside Services team supports 900 iPhones, 400 desktops, 1040 notebook computers and about 360 semi-rugged notebooks in our mobile workforce environment and consists of multi-vendor contract resources operating in a pool concept where resources are utilized across varying projects and operational areas based on skills and abilities, with a goal of providing the most efficient and effective support to the business.
SaskEnergy is looking for an entry level Desktop Analyst to work in our Deskside Services Team. This team is primarily responsible for supporting all end user devices such as desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and desktop software applications. This person will also be responsible for researching and providing recommendations on technical solutions as they relate to end user devices.
The Desktop Analyst resource responsibilities include, but not limited to :
1. Manage, & support end-user devices (laptops, desktops, rugged tablets, mobile phones, printers, etc)
2. End user software support – Windows 10, Microsoft Apps for Enterprise (O365) and other desktop software applications
3. Provide Tier 1 & 2 support at SaskEnergy’s Tech Support desk, a dedicated service for walk up support to end-users.
4. Image, deploy and configure new computers / laptops and install various software application
5. Speciality peripheral management, including Fleet Truck docks
6. Recording all inventory, incidents / service request tickets into incident management system.
The key skills and knowledge areas required for the resource are outlined in attached Appendix C – Supplementary Specifications. The Desktop Analyst must be able to perform in a team environment with strong interpersonal and professional communication skills. North American job experience is considered an asset for this proposal. Proponents are encouraged to provide specific and qualitative verbiage of other areas where their expertise can add value to our teams, and make our projects as successful as possible.
The preference for start date is as soon as possible. The initial term for this role will conclude on March 31, 2023; after which SaskEnergy will evaluate its ongoing requirements and potentially extend the term for this Resource in accordance with the terms and conditions of the proponent’s Technology Master Service Agreement (TMSA).
CONTRACT DURATION
The Contract will be effective for an initial term commencing on the date of award and ending on March 31, 2023. The Contract will automatically renew for successive one (1) year terms, a maximum of four (4) times
The Resource will be required to work and be located on site at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm and the proposed hourly rate shall be inclusive of all travel and living costs (PST and GST are extra). Occasional travel to support offices across the province will be required.
