Responsibilities
- Performs vehicle inspections, troubleshooting and testing to determine required or recommended repairs
- Accurately diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs, including engine, mechanical and electrical system work, and parts replacement as required
- Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
- Verify vehicle serviceability and ensure quality repairs on the first attempt by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems as required
- Ensure customer vehicles remain clean during the repair process
- Contain costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options for repairs as required
- Communicate with service advisor and/or dispatcher if additional work is needed
- Aid service writer as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with the customer, or in any other way necessary to guarantee customer satisfaction
- Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt of parts and supplies
- Maintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized
- Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Stay informed of automotive terminology and technology changes in the product
- Follow attendance and punctuality standards and timekeeping procedures
- Adhere to the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
- Follow all work rules and directions from Supervisors; uphold confidentiality policies
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policy
- Attend relevant training and company meetings as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 310T Licence 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice
