Our Technical Training Supervisor will provide leadership to our Technical Training team and collaborate with Service Operational Leaders to develop our technicians and customers with quality technical training on Caterpillar product lines.

In a typical day, YOU will :
Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors in support of Toromont's Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiativesEnsure all department employees and Toromont visitors in training comply with established safety rulesProvide excellent customer service as the key contact for Technical Training requirementsProvide leadership in the training department to ensure KPI targets are metDeliver classroom training in support of the business demandsPromote customer satisfaction, follow up on quality of training and collaborate with Apprenticeship Specialist to ensure Apprentice Program needs are metTrain and coach team members to meet and exceed customer and business expectations and administer performance evaluationsCreate quotes and review / prepare invoices for internal and external customersInvestigate and report accidents or near missesIdentify and resolve issues by initiating corrective actions when necessaryEncourage continuous improvement for the Training Department through regularly scheduled meetings and associated trainingAssist the Training Manager with the management of fixed assets in the Training Department and preparation for capital expendituresMust-haves for this role :
Post-Secondary Education with a technical focus and up to 3 years’ experience in a supervisory position within a shop environmentHighly safety conscious with a solid technical aptitude for heavy equipment, Caterpillar, competitive product lines and current marketplace industry knowledgeCustomer centric with strong leadership, efficient coaching and effective team building skillsExceptional communication, relationship development and interpersonal skillsAbility to drive sales with strong negotiation, analytical and organizational skillsMindset for continuous improvement, excellent problem solving and conflict management skillsProven business and financial acumen with effective decision makingSense of urgency, independent and a team player with high initiative and integritySelf-directed and adaptable to changing and multiple priorities to meet aggressive deadlines in a fast paced environmentComputer and systems literate with proficiencies in Microsoft Applications including Excel, Word and OutlookKnowledge of CAT Corporate Web Navigation, DBS, SIS or experience with Toromont operations would be an assetWilling and able to work flexible hours in support of the business needsValid Driver's License and clean Driver's AbstractFluent in both English and French spoken language would be an assetAbout Toromont Cat
