Job Title : Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Operations Manager

Location : Greater Toronto Area

Salary : $130,000 to $170,000

Your Role :

As an Operations Manager / Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of their team's success. Your key responsibilities will include :

Leadership & Staff Supervision :

  • Ensuring the well-being and safety of our teams at various work sites.
  • Supervising employees and ensuring their job proficiency meets our high standards.
  • Mentoring and guiding staff at all levels, from junior to senior engineers, to foster professional growth.
  • Reviewing technical reports to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinating resources, including employee allocation, equipment management, and scheduling, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Client Relations & Project Coordination :

  • Serving as the key liaison between our clients and our internal teams.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinating work assignments and project schedules to meet client expectations and deadlines.
  • Collaborating with other teams within the company to ensure a unified approach to client service.
  • Financial & Administrative Management :

  • Preparing and managing group budgets to meet profit and utilization targets.
  • Tracking monthly performance metrics and making adjustments as necessary to achieve goals.
  • Overseeing the preparation of contract documents to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Business Development :

  • Engaging in business development activities to expand our client base and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Monitoring industry trends and attending trade shows, professional associations, and events to enhance our company’s profile.
  • Quality Control & Technical Excellence :

  • Reviewing the work of your team to ensure it meets established standards and continuously seeking ways to improve quality.
  • Managing projects from proposal to completion, including budget allocation, resource management, and client communication.
  • Staying technically proficient by participating in professional practice groups and delivering training programs.
  • What You Bring :

  • A degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering and operational management.
  • Professional Engineering designation in Ontario.
  • Proven ability to manage operations, lead teams, and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and business development skills.
