POSITION FUNCTION :

The Invigilator provides invigilation of tests for the CELPIP program.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Pre-Test Preparations :

  • Provide a professional and welcoming atmosphere for test-takers.
  • Verify candidates' identification before the test.
  • Ensure the test environment meets MOSAIC and CELPIP security standards.
  • Guide test-takers through the check-in process.
  • Ensure candidates are seated correctly according to the assigned layout.
  • Conduct room inspections before and after each session.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and lighting in the test center.

Test Monitoring & Assistance :

  • Start and end the test on time as per CELPIP guidelines.
  • Monitor candidates for any misconduct or cheating.
  • Assist candidates with login and test navigation.
  • Respond to candidate queries within permissible limits.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with computers and headsets.
  • Maintain a quiet and distraction-free testing environment.
  • Keep track of time and announce time warnings.
  • Incident Handling & Reporting :

  • Report any suspicious behavior or rule violations.
  • Follow emergency procedures in case of unforeseen incidents.
  • Maintain detailed records of test-day incidents.
  • Securely store or dispose of confidential test materials as per MOSAIC and CELPIP guidelines.
  • Post-Test Responsibilities :

  • Distribute and collect test materials if required.
  • Coordinate with other invigilators and test center staff.
  • Assist with post-test data entry and documentation.
  • Other Duties as assigned by your Test Day Supervisor or Coordinator.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    Knowledge : Office procedures

    Education / Certifications : High School completion

    Skills / Abilities : Strong Communication skills, Customer service orientation, Attention to detail, Time management & organization skills, Technical proficiency, Professionalism and Integrity. Ability to follow strict guidelines and procedures.

    Experience : Experience in an administrative, customer service, or education role is preferred.

    Physical Requirements : Sitting, standing, bending, and ability to lift 10 kg.

    Other : Current, satisfactory Criminal Record Check required by policy, law and / or employment contract.

    COMPENSATION : $24.82 to $25.70

    HOURS & LOCATIONS :

    On-call shifts are available on weekends and evenings. Shifts may vary between 2 hrs - 7 hrs in length. The successful candidates must be able to commute to 699 Victoria St. Kamloops, British Columbia V2C 3S8.
