    Why your Role Matters

    Working as part of the university-wide Policy Transformation Project you will bring your skills as a policy editor / writer to oversee the consolidation and streamlining of professional policies across the Academic Promotion and Recognition Policy transformation project stream.

    Providing expert policy advice to staff within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Quality (DVCAQ) portfolio you will take a leading role in ensuring clarity consistency and accessibility for our staff. With the ability to take a critical eye and make change recommendations you will take a structured and strategic approach that ensures the usability and validity of the DVCAQ suite of policies.

    Key focuses of the role include :

    • Providing expert advice on the implementation of the UNSW Policy Framework.
    • Leading the ongoing evaluation consolidation and re-writing of the Academic Promotion and Recognition policies and procedures.
    • Building significant working relationships consulting with stakeholders and subject matter experts to inform the creation and efficient implementation of policies.
    • Uplifting policy development processes creating implementation resources across templates development checklists consultation plans.
    • Overseeing the policy review cycle monitoring the policy database to track policy reviews and ensure documents are current and accurate.
    • Who you are :

      Confident in providing expert policy advice you will hold previous experience across the policy development lifecycle and are comfortable managing a transformation project end-to- end.

      You hold the following skills & experience :

    • Experience in policy transformation including reviewing drafting and implementing policies ideally across policy consolidation projects
    • Demonstrated research and analytical skills including benchmarking and interpreting legislationpolicies and procedures.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiation and influence.
    • Practised in project management with experience in the development and communication of policies practices and strategies particularly in the context of change
    • Higher Education background is highly regarded and would be advantageous given the nature of the work.
    • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write to produce easy-to-read policies and documents in plain language.
