RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary

CANadian consortium of clinical trial TRAINing (CANTRAIN) is one and the largest of the seven clinical trials training programs (CTTP).

CANTRAIN aims to improve overall competency of Canada's current and future clinical trials research professionals and trialist while better engaging community partners and patients in the process.

The Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) holds a special place in CANTRAIN with the new strategic plan (2024-2027) leading into important transformation.

The CTO should be able to maintain an independent perspective - one that is not associated with or hindered by past decisions.

The CTO has experience in creating an environment that fosters impactful actions aligned with strategic priorities.

The CTO will be able to advise how to manage short-term improvement and long-term value creation while working with the challenges of the limited resources.

Also, strong role assisting the ED & CBO with accomplishing the transformation with the development of a business model with sustainability within and beyond the current CANTRAIN CIHR funding.

With the NPI, the CTO, the Executive Director and chief business officer, and the COO will work alongside to take corporate decisions, operationalize the strategic plan (2024-2027) and oversight pertaining to the main business function and purpose of CANTRAIN.

General Duties

Leading Transformation Strategy

  • Makes high-stakes decisions that align with CANTRAIN long-term goals and objectives.
  • Formulate a comprehensive transformation strategy aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and objectives.
  • Identify key areas for improvement and innovation to drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to communicate the vision for transformation and gain buy-in from stakeholders at all levels.
  • Implement change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and mitigate resistance to change,
  • Assist the NPI and ED & CBO in the business plan development

Manage Transformation and track progress

  • Manage the planning, execution, and monitoring of transformation aimed with the new strategic plan.
  • Mitigates- risks and resolve issues to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Follow the progress with the key people in charge of ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of transformation initiatives.
  • Regularly assess progress against targets and adjust strategies as needed to ensure alignment with organizational goals

Foster a culture of learning and growth

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support individuals to develop a team capable of driving change and innovation across the organization.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to empower team members.

Marketing and Communication

  • Develop a marketing plan, including a market analysis to identify and optimize CANTRAIN niche in the market, and enhance its value proposition, business growth, communications, transformation.
  • Implement marketing tactics and initiatives for development, partnerships and sponsorships, business growth.
  • Build marketing / communication business processes and identify opportunities for optimization and standardization.
  • Develop the communication plan, oversee the coordination and mobilize the team responsible for delivery and ensure internal and external communications reflect the company's vision and values and promote stakeholder, supporter, and customer understanding and adherence - brand identity and equity.

Education / Experience

Education : Master's Degree

Field of Study : Business - Administration

Work Experience : + 15 Years Experience in business strategy and marketing communication

Required Skills

  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimal supervision.

Additional information

Status : Temporary, full time

Pay Scale : $85,503.60 - $158,776.80 Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift : 8 : 30 am to 4 : 30 pm, Mondays to Fridays

Work Site : 5252 boul. de Maisonneuve
