Director of Procurement
The Director, Procurement will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the global procurement process to ensure the organization's operational and financial objectives are met.
The Director of Procurement with a focus on pharmaceutical sourcing and vendor networks experience will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's pharmaceutical procurement processes align with the highest standards of quality, compliance, and innovation in the dynamic pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities & Duties : Global Strategy & OperationsDevelop the global procurement strategy and execute the plan, encompassing organizational requirements, departmental growth, and vision for one, three, and five-year projections.
Develop and implement a comprehensive global organizational sourcing strategy and plans.Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements.
Keep abreast of industry regulations, market dynamics, and technological advancements in sourcing and procurement, and suggest and implement process improvements as needed.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or efficiency.Streamline and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement.Vendor & Relationship ManagementStrategically expand and diversify the pharmaceutical vendor network to enhance our client’s competitive advantage.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers around the world (with a focus on India) fostering open communication, trust, and collaboration to ensure a reliable and sustainable value chain.
Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the organization.Work cross-functionally with Pricing & Product Profitability, Demand Planning, and Logistics to ensure the success of procurement strategies.
Performance Reporting and AnalysisEstablish and monitor key metrics and KPIs to measure the performance and effectiveness of the procurement function.
Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost savings.Present findings, recommendations, and strategic insights to senior management clearly and concisely.
Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of procurement-related expenses.Compliance and Risk ManagementIdentify and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement activities, working closely with legal and compliance teams.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard our client’s interests.Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
People ManagementLead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.Mentor and coach members of your team and guide them to perform at their best.
Foster a highly driven and engaged culture within the team that promotes a commitment to operational excellence.Set clear goals and objectives, and monitor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related fieldEight (8) plus years of proven experience in procurement, with at least five (5) years in a leadership roleVast experience in sourcing pharmaceutical raw materials (experience sourcing suppliers in India is required)Technical / scientific knowledge of API’s and GMP regulatory environment for each country and regionExperience working with AI and technology to enhance efficiencies (considered an asset)Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel) requiredExcellent communication skills;
fluent in French and English. The direct reports to this role live within and outside the province of Québec and will be doing business with vendors and suppliers overseas.
Communication skills in Hindi, Bengali, or Marathi (is a strong asset).Excellent leadership and team management abilitiesStrong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship management skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detailProficient in using SRP / ERP / MRP systems (Syspro is an asset)Experience with BI or other reporting toolsA team player, with exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Huit (8) années d'expérience confirmée dans le domaine de l'approvisionnement, dont au moins cinq (5) années dans un rôle de direction.
Vaste expérience de l'approvisionnement en matières premières pharmaceutiques (une expérience de l'approvisionnement auprès de fournisseurs en Inde est requise)Connaissance technique / scientifique des API et de l'environnement réglementaire GMP pour chaque pays et région.
Expérience de travail avec l'IA et la technologie pour améliorer l'efficacité (considérée comme un atout)Connaissance de la suite Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams et Excel) requiseExcellentes compétences en communication ;
maîtrise du français et de l'anglais. Les personnes qui relèvent directement de ce poste vivent à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de la province de Québec et feront affaire avec des vendeurs et des fournisseurs à l'étranger.
