DESCRIPTION
Seeking a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Coordinator to support projects in Barrie, ON. The role involves promoting safety awareness, compliance with HSE legislation, and coordinating with employees and onsite personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) : Establish, manage, and ensure each trade has a member.
- Investigations : Investigate work refusals, stoppages, and incidents; liaise with Ministry of Labour and legal authorities.
- Training : Provide safety training on current and upcoming legislation.
- Inspections : Conduct and document workplace and machinery inspections; follow up on corrective measures.
- Accident & Emergency Response : Develop and train on emergency plans; maintain emergency items; provide First Aid and document incidents.
- General Administration : Address worker complaints, enforce safety measures, monitor housekeeping, manage work permits, and write safety bulletins.
- Miscellaneous Tasks : Inspect and lend equipment, conduct safety talks, provide orientation, and attend trade meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or Certificate in HSE or similar
- Minimum 3 years experience in HSE within construction
- Knowledge of construction HSE legislation
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Valid drivers license and CPR / First Aid Certification
