The Alberni Valley has a population of over 18,000 and is centrally located on Vancouver Island. Just an hour’s drive to the beautiful beaches of Tofino and Ucluelet to the West and an hour East to Nanaimo, where a ferry or floatplane can get you to Vancouver in a heartbeat.
The valley is surrounded by beautiful mountains renowned for hiking, mountain biking, trail running, quadding, hunting, and camping. The ocean inlet is ideal for fishing and windsurfing, and Sproat Lake was just voted the best lake in British Columbia. World-class skiing on Mt. Washington is only a short drive away! Blessed with a moderate climate, it harbours both commercial fishing vessels and pleasure craft. Recreational activities in the area include fishing, hiking, scuba diving, golfing, kayaking, and windsurfing.
