PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant with a passion for manufacturing and optimizing operational efficiency. You will work closely with cross functional teams to ensure accurate cost accounting, budgeting and financial analysis. This role will support manufacturing and distribution efficiencies and streamline cost accounting processes.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to develop cost estimates and budgets for manufacturing operations.
  • Examine costs of production to determine the most efficient methods of production.
  • Conduct financial analysis and cost studies to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Optimize cost accounting procedures and systems for manufacturing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Monitor costs, inventory levels, and production efficiencies to identify variances and implements corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare journal entries, financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making at both plant and corporate levels.
  • Provide guidance and training to plant personnel on cost accounting principles, procedures, and best practices.
  • Establish and ensure compliance to controls regarding inventory including cycle counts.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and discussions to assess project progress, address challenges, and implement solutions.
  • Support in closing month-end

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field; with CPA certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles, budgeting techniques, and financial analysis methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Bilingual in French and English, written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change priorities and deadlines
