Job description

Our client is sourcing for a 12 to 13-month contract :

About the Opportunity

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations for the project - including recovery of insurance proceeds, settlement of insurance claims and annual renewals of insurance policies maintained.

Familiarize and administer all financial aspects of Project obligations under all relevant financing Documents. Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with the general manager and contractual counterparties.

Maintain standardized procedures and controls relating to financial affairs and operations,

Manage the year end audit (utilizing IFRS accounting) and external auditors as required

Assist with draft tax computations and provide any other applicable information required by external tax advisors and generally liaise with tax advisers where required.

Responsible for finance reports to be presented to senior management as required under the Project Documents Deliverables :

Maintain the accounts and records including corporate finance and bank accounts on a day-to-day basis

Create invoices for all amounts payable to stakeholders and work closely for timely collection of Payments. Administering all payments and indemnities as required under the Project guidelines

Submit the annual accounts and tax returns as required pursuant to applicable law, and arrange the timely filing thereof

Production of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts and financial statements including management accounts

Prepare and submit the annual budget. Cash Flow, Maintaining and reporting on Debt Covenants including DSCR calculations

Due performance of obligations (if any) under the applicable tax and insurance regulatory requirements

Arrange for the prompt payment of all sums due to be paid to any tax collecting agency

Develop and maintain the financial aspects of a business plan

Perform any analysis reasonably required to determine the financial impact to the Project as defined in, and initiated in accordance with, the Project Documents. Attend to any Adhoc finance related requests not limited to reporting templates and model assumptions

Management of drawdowns, payments to lenders and administration of equity membership units.

Maintain the operating financial model utilized for audit as well as any model reflecting management assumptions.

Review all operating systems and procedures specifically related to financial management, identify defects and problems in such systems and procedures, recommend changes and implement recommended changes on receipt of approval from Management as the case

Obtain approval of the management committee in accordance with the project agreement. If the Controller enters into an additional contract without the approval of the Committee, the Management retains the right to terminate such contract immediately.

Presence at Project Office Be present at the Project location as needed.

About You

Accounting Designation

7-10 years of experience as a controller in a capital-intensive environment – Manufacturing, Construction etc.

At least 5 years of IFRS based financial reporting experience

Hands all experience managing all aspects of an ongoing project including financial statement preparation, Budgets, Adhoc analysis, Tax computations and Audit

Advanced excel including financial modelling expertise

Exposure to Payroll will be an asset

Excellent communication skills – experience presenting to Senior management

Critical thinking and strong Analytical skills
