Job Description :
- The Mainframe Production Support Analyst will provide production support for the client’s deposit system (Depo) and ensure stability of nightly batch processing.
- This role requires strong COBOL programming skills, OpenVMS expertise, batch troubleshooting experience, and knowledge of financial systems.
- The ideal candidate will support incident resolution, system enhancements, data extractions, and technical documentation while collaborating closely with business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Production Support And Batch Operations :
Provide production support for the client deposit system (Depo).Support nightly batch processing on an on-call basis.Investigate and resolve batch failures, technical incidents, and processing anomalies.Work with enterprise schedulers such as Control-M or similar tools.Provide clear responses and explanations for user inquiries related to accounts and interest statements.Data Analysis And Enhancements :
Perform data extractions for balances, accounts, and transactions as requested.Conduct analysis for system enhancements and new development requests.Provide effort estimates for development and testing activities.Perform integrated testing with related applications.Development And Technical Documentation :
Develop system enhancements, ad hoc requests, and automation scripts.Prepare technical design documents and technical specifications.Maintain up-to-date application technical documentation and run books.Create and manage change requests.Maintain accurate status updates in Jira.Communicate daily updates to team leadership and management.Ensure compliance with all client policies and mandatory training requirements.Technical Skills And Qualifications :
Core Technical Skills :
4+ years of experience in mainframe production support.Intermediate to advanced COBOL programming skills.Experience troubleshooting failed batch jobs and programs.Experience with OpenVMS operating system (preferred).Intermediate to advanced OpenVMS DCL scripting skills.Batch support experience using Control-M or comparable enterprise schedulers.Beginner to intermediate SQL query skills (Oracle or similar).Intermediate to advanced PL / SQL and Oracle database skills.Intermediate to advanced Linux scripting skills.Familiarity with SDLC and change management processes.Functional Skills And Domain Knowledge :
Experience in banking or financial services industry.Basic accounting knowledge.Understanding of deposit account and interest calculation processes.Exposure to SWIFT statements is a plus.Strong documentation skills for development, implementation, release plans, and operational run books.Soft Skills :
