Assistant Controller

Position Overview :

At National Engineered Fasteners (NEF), Finance and Accounting isn’t just about the numbers; it’s about supporting the entire business. NEF is a leading distributor in the fastener industry and an essential business supplying product to Original Equipment Manufacturers worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills. Looking for at least five years’ experience, along with a degree and solid understanding of all aspects of accounting / finance.

Position Responsibilities - include but are not limited to the following :

• Support daily operations of accounting area. Scope includes supporting Accounts Payable, Credit / Collections functions, Cash Management and Reconciliation.
• Reconcile sub ledger to general ledger account balances
• Post journal entries, on-demand cheques, bank reconciliations, tax filings, and any other tasks essential to preparing monthly financials.
• Support the month-end process from reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations through to preparing financial statements.
• Assist in the budget preparation and processes.

Interface with both internal and external partners to support requests as it relates to audits with external third parties.
