Job description

Project / Field Technician About  Our Client :   Our client is an established firm with over 90 years of experience in the development and maintenance of municipal water wells and pumping equipment.They are an industry leader providing both engineering and contracting services to a wide range of municipal and industrial clients including the development, management, and maintenance of municipal and industrial water wells along with supply, installation and maintenance of well pump systems and lift station pumping equipment. Project / Field Technician : In this role you will work with the Engineering and Field staff to conduct field activities and then produce the reporting elements back in office to summarize results for customers. What you will be doing as a  Project / Field Technician :

  • Conduct well inspections and videos at various locations throughout Ontario.
  • Process the video to make them ready to provide to customers.Includes interpreting and summarizing the various elements seen in the video and comparing it to the well record
  • Graphing the results from well performance step tests
  • Install and download dataloggers and produce reports on water-takings and well activity summaries for client submissions to the Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks
  • Assist in preparing other reports
  • Opportunity for training to progress to conduct well inspections and maintenance activities
  • Other duties as assigned

What you should have as a  Project / Field Technician :

  • Ideal candidate would be a graduate with a diploma in Environmental
  • Studies / Civil / Mechanical or a degree in Engineering in the civil or mechanical field
  • Ideal candidate would have an Ontario Well technician Class 5 license.We are willing to train the successful candidate though.
  • Familiarity with well construction and / or operation an asset, as are courses in geology.
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to troubleshoot and fix equipment issues is an asset
  • 3-5 years experience is preferred but willing to train a new graduate with the right attitude
  • Willingness to learn, proactive and able to problem-solve to complete projects independently as well as in a team structure
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work as a team member
  • Strong knowledge of standard office software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites within Ontario, when required
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Current compensation starting at $23-28 / hr around negotiable based on experience)
