Englobe is currently looking for an On-Site Electrical Quality Assurance Inspector to join its quality department for clients in the hydroelectric field.

One of our potential projects is related to the refurbishment of electrical equipment in the northwest territories starting in the spring for most of 2023.

The candidate will be attached to a projet in north ouest of Canada

The candidate will stay in camp on-site and will be working on a rotating schedule. The candidate may also be required to work from home or from the office during certain phases of the mandate.

Your Contribution

As an on-site Inspector in the electrical field, the candidate will work closely with our client and the main responsibilities will be :

  • Perform routine quality surveillance of the contractor’s production on-site, including witnessing the contractor’s inspection and testing activities. Verification areas will be established according to the contractor’s inspection and test plans to verify that quality control is effective, and the work meets the specification requirements.
  • Perform certain control tests with instruments to perform electrical tests, such as insulation resistance tests and continuity tests.
  • Identifying and raising non-conformity reports, reviewing contractor’s non-conformity reports and verifying corrective actions.
  • Reviewing quality records and release hold points established in the inspection and test plans.
  • Reviewing contractor’s quality reports.
  • Preparing daily reports summarizing contractor’s quality performance and quality issues.
  • Monitoring the quality of the installation of the hydroelectric power plant's electrical equipment according to specifications, standards and reference diagrams.
  • Reviewing contractor’s special procedures and processes including equipment start-up tests.

Your Profile

  • College diploma, technologist diploma or university degree in electrical engineering or any other experience considered equivalent;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Available to travel regularly to remote areas on rotation;
  • Knowledge of QA / QC activities;
  • Knowledge of various electrical testing methods;
  • Knowledge of hydroelectric power plant equipment (asset);
  • Technical writing skills;
  • Possess a valid driver's license;
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite;
