Financial Manager

We are looking for a dedicated Financial Manager to join our client's team for this hybrid (on site primary) role in Kitchener- Waterloo, Ontario. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee financial reporting, tax compliance, and support strategic decision-making across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid grasp of corporate tax and financial reporting practices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting across various entities.

• Supervise the general ledger team and provide guidance on tax preparation, workpapers, and open items.

• Present financial reports to senior leadership, including the Controller, and provide insights to support decision-making.

• Review internally prepared tax returns and handle complex sections, focusing on operations within Ontario.

• Collaborate on financial planning and analysis initiatives to support organizational goals.

• Oversee year-end audits and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.

• Manage financial operations for over 5 entities, including active and holding companies, with occasional consolidation tasks.

• Ensure adherence to compliance standards and regulatory requirements across all financial activities.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, and corporate tax.

• Strong technical foundation in financial reporting and corporate tax compliance.

• Proficiency in budgeting processes and accounting functions.

• Ability to manage multiple entities and complex financial structures.

• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial insights and collaborating with teams.

• Familiarity with year-end audits and regulatory compliance.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• CPA designation completed (must be actively enrolled in PEP at minimum). Consideration will be given for experienced candidates who achieved final stages of CMA or CGA designation
