What you'll be doing.

The incumbent is responsible for managing end to end Data Quality and Quality Assurance which entails managing manual checks, automated queries, the Data Quality tool, Workforce Onboarding Integration Layer, report creations and ad-hoc requests.

This includes analyzing and executing on operational efficiencies, including but not limited to system enhancements, process change improvements, regulatory and compliance requirements and supporting prioritized initiatives across Global HR Services Operations.

You will contribute to the overall success of Global HR Services Operations by ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

All activities must be conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will :

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Assists with the development of strategies, recommendations, including business benefits and costs, implementation, training and change management strategies
  • Completes business analysis and consults with business sponsors / stakeholders to explore, assess and recommend business solutions.
  • Supports the team with :
  • Analysis of workflow processes and procedures
  • Root cause and gap analysis and the design of future state workflow processes and procedures and analyzes system flows.
  • Determining business impact for changes in processes and procedures
  • Defining system application requirements for modifications to existing processes, or the creation of new applications and / or processes
  • Preparing requirement documents for Development and lead walkthrough discussions
  • Executing test cases and documenting any defects
  • Documents and coordinates training and communication
  • Business stakeholder sessions
  • Implementation of operational effectiveness plans and solutions
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his / her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML / ATF / sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have :

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resource, Business (Operations), Data Analysis, Data Science, Engineering or HR Technology
  • 2 years hands on experience using Python programming and machine learning libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Dask, spaCy, NLTK, Scikit-learn and PyTorch for data analysis, including building the logic and business rules for procedure automation, data consolidation, improving data controls and best practices
  • Writes clean and reusable code that can be easily maintained and scaled
  • Experience with data mining, predictive modeling, pattern recognition and statistical analysis
  • Strong skills in Excel, VBA and Power BI
  • Experience with Project Management (LEAN / Six-Sigma concepts & principles)
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Competence in systematically solving problems using appropriate process improvement methodologies to analyze complex data and information from different cross-functional teams, both locally and globally
