DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
We are looking for a Director of Finance for our client, one of Vancouvers largest brewers!
Reporting and working directly with the President, The Director of Finance will oversee all financial activities of the company, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis.
This role will also be instrumental in providing financial guidance on our innovation projects and key commercial strategies.
Helping to determine and uphold our financial goals will be paramount in this role. This role will be supported by an existing Financial Accountant.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee all financial accounting operations, including Billing, A / R, A / P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting & Revenue Recognition.
Oversee, approve & publish timely monthly financial statements and other operational reports.
Supervise month-end and year-end close processes in a timely manner.
Oversee the group medical and benefits plan with the Group HR Manager.
Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions with the senior team.
Manage and comply with local, provincial, & federal government reporting requirements & tax filings.
Develop & document business processes and accounting policies to maintain & strengthen internal controls.
Provide leadership & coordination in the business planning, accounting, & budgeting efforts of the company.
Provide financial reporting & analyses as needed, including capital investments, pricing decisions & contract negotiations.
Monitor & analyze monthly operating results against budget and other benchmarks.
Manage cash flow & prepare cash flow forecasts.
Provide strategic financial recommendations to the Senior Management and Ownership Team on corporate direction based on product & labour cost analysis, gross margin implications and other KPIs.
Compile & prepare corporate and tax filings, working with an external accounting firm for year-end filings.
Qualifications
CPA accounting designation and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
Sound working knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end / year-end close process.
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills with above- average Excel / Google Sheet skills
Good working knowledge of Google Suites is an asset.
ERP experience is preferred ( Oracle NetSuite familiarity an asset)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional leadership skills and ability to manage and develop direct reports.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
