Job description

Adecco is currently recruiting for a Structural Assembler for a 6-month contract role. This role is with our client in Halifax, NS.

The Structural Assembler will have the following responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the structural installation, assembly, and subassemblies of systems, parts, and aircraft components within the framework of a project and / or assignment area.
  • Use the technical data and instructions provided by the client or the aircraft manufacturer.
  • Use templates and position components based on work instructions, engineering drawings, or any other materials provided by the methods department.
  • Read and interpret plans or manufacturing files.
  • Adapt your work to different types of assemblies : large / small components.
  • Adjust and use manual or automated machines and tools based on the work to be performed.
  • Assemble metal and / or composite parts according to the technical specifications provided by the client :
  • Install necessary fasteners; drill holes; ensure that the correct products are used for assembly (bolts, rivets, mechanical or hardened rivets, screws, or accessories to fix, support, or suspend components and subassemblies).
  • Ensure the use of appropriate products for assembly (sealants, adhesives, corrosion protection, painting).
  • Ensure the conformity of assemblies with the manufacturing documentation.
  • Inspect and verify the units, parts, and equipment installed to ensure their fit, performance, and compliance with the standards defined in the technical documentation.
  • Comply with quality standards and production rates.
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Report any anomalies or irregularities.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

The Structural Assembler must meet the following mandatory requirements :

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role (as an assembler) in the aerospace field.
  • You hold at least a professional studies diploma in aircraft structure assembly or equivalent.
  • You have excellent skills in reading plans.
  • You demonstrate dexterity.
  • You are quick-witted with a strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingualism (French-English) both oral and written is a significant advantage for communication in the multilingual environment of the client's site and for technical documentation.
