The Cowichan PCN is looking for Family Practitioners to join the new UPCC in Cowichan. Work alongside other Family Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Mental Health workers and Medical Office Assistants in a highly collaborative and supportive clinic environment to deliver comprehensive care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns to seniors, with a focus on building lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Patient Care: Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic health conditions for patients of all ages, including preventive care, health screenings, vaccinations, and minor procedures.
Chronic Disease Management: Oversee the management of long-term health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and cardiovascular disease.
Women’s Health & Mental Health: Provide care for women’s health needs (e.g., Pap smears, contraception) and offer mental health support (e.g., anxiety, depression).
Telehealth & In-Person Appointments: Offer both in-person and telehealth services to meet the diverse needs of your patients. Charting will be completed using Telus Med Access EMR, ensuring seamless integration with our clinic’s systems and efficient patient care documentation.
Pre-booked & Same-Day Access Appointments: Provide both pre-booked and same-day access appointments for clinic patients to ensure timely care and flexibility.

As soon as possible.
Overhead
APP contract comes with $75, overhead per FTE and is paid directly to Island Health. The physician is not expected to contribute extra overhead funding.
Benefits
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including (subject to change):
Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10, (pro-rated based on FTE)
Relocation: up to a maximum of $15, (amount based on location relocating from)
Flat fee: $6,.80
Fee Premium: 4.20%
CME: $2,/annum year 3-4 and $4,/annum after 4 years in the community
