Safety Trainer

Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a Trainer, Safety to work out of our mill site near Athabasca, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring Al-Pac is compliant with safety training and certification requirements owned by the Health, Safety & Security department. The Trainer is also responsible for scheduling and conducting training and development sessions to support individual and organizational needs. This role is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.

Role Responsibilities

• Facilitate HSS orientation for new hires.
• Monitor learning platforms for training compliance, needs and recertification.
• Deliver pre-developed training sessions or short courses- engaging, advising and guiding learners and evaluation the achievement of intended learning outcomes.
• Administer and maintain record for training and H&S competency requirements.
• Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of computer applications such as Microsoft Office
• Gathering and summarizing data for special report
• Coordinates, organizes, facilitate and schedules third-party vendors when required to support training needs that have been identified.
• Maintain supplies required for training.
• Maintain sign in / out logs of HSS assets including fall protection equipment, lock out tag out equipment, gas detection systems / devices, and keys for certain access areas within the mill.
• Carry out a wide range of data processing tasks as directed and advise other colleagues and provide guidance on processes when needed.
• Enter data including, but not limited to orientation, lock out tag out logs / lists, hot work permit records, and investigation documentation into HSS online communities for tracking and record retention.
• Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
