YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS SENIOR WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER :

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in water resources management.
  • Perform hydrologic assessments, hydraulic modeling, surface drainage design, erosion and sedimentation control, wind and wave analysis, dam breach modeling, flood mapping, and design flood management and protection systems.
  • Perform detailed technical analyses, conceptual and preliminary designs, and contribute to development of comprehensive reports and proposals.
  • Manage projects of varying scales, overseeing all phases from client interactions, site investigations, engineering analysis and design, to report prep, construction drawings, specifications, and contract administration / construction inspection.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understand their needs, and ensure successful delivery of projects that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Quality assurance : review and direct analyses completed by junior staff, ensuring the accuracy and quality of project work.
  • Prepare and review project deliverables, including detailed specifications and reports, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client requirements.
  • Undertake other engineering-related responsibilities as needed.
  • WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A SENIOR WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER :

  • University degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering; a graduate degree and successful Project Management experience are considered assets
  • 5+ years experience in water resources engineering
  • Current license as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada or in process
  • Expertise in hydrotechnical modeling using hydrologic and 1D / 2D hydraulic software (HEC, MIKE, SWMM, others)
  • Proficiency in data management and communication demonstrated through skills in AutoCAD and GIS software (ArcGIS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in technical report and proposal writing
  • Flexibility and willingness to put in overtime and work outside primary location
