The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is seeking an experienced, motivated, and safety-focused Aquatics Coordinator to support the effective operation and supervision of all outdoor aquatic facilities. Reporting to the Recreation Program Specialist, this leadership role is responsible for staff supervision, program delivery, facility operations, and ensuring safe, inclusive, and high‑quality aquatic experiences for the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation and supervision of all town outdoor aquatic facilities, ensuring safe, inclusive, and high‑quality service delivery.
- Lead, schedule, train, and support aquatic staff, including recruitment assistance, performance management, and evaluations.
- Coordinate aquatic programming, instructional services, and league participation, providing operational and on‑deck support as required.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, legislation, and town policies, including facility inspections and incident management.
- Manage administrative and financial functions, including scheduling, registrations, point‑of‑sale, reporting, and record keeping using ACTIVENet.
- Act as the primary liaison for participants, families, staff, and external partners.
Qualifications
Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in an aquatic supervisory or leadership role.Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard (NL) certification.Current Lifesaving Society certifications including Lifesaving Instructor, Emergency First Aid Instructor, Swim Instructor, and Aquatic Supervisor / Aquatic Manager training.Current Standard First Aid, CPR‑C, and AED certification.HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development certification.Strong knowledge of aquatic safety standards, legislation, and instructional programming.Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.Proficiency with ACTIVENet or the ability to learn quickly.Valid Class G Driver’s Licence.Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.Working Conditions
