(Al-Pac) is seeking a Technician, Warehouse to work out of our mill site near Athabasca, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling, storing, and distributing pulp products. This position receives and dispatches goods on / off the baleline and warehouse floor, loading product into rail cars and trucks, rail car shunting for chemical delivery, car loading, and train preparation.The Technician Warehouse Operator is a member of one of four shift teams, providing 24 / 7 operational coverage for the mill operation. - Role ResponsibilitiesTruck & Railcar Loading : Safely load, unload, move, and store materials, equipment, and finished products using forklifts and other material-handling equipment into trucks and trailers.Ensure accurate recording of data in SAP for the execution of shipments in a timely mannerPrepare and verify bills of lading for to ensure proper documentation for transport and delivery.Shunting : Operate and move railcars, including chemical cars for the fibreline.Perform railcar shunting activities, including blocking, blowing switches in winter, and lubricating switches.Maintain general track safety by clearing crossings, ensuring site road control (traffic control), and collaborating with CN.Operate locomotive track mobile and complete locomotive checklists.Prepare interchange and ensure all safety protocols are followed.Inventory Control : Maintain accurate records in the warehouse management system (SAP).Process bills of lading, input and finalize batch entries, and complete rail car entries within SAP to ensure accurate tracking and documentation for shipments.Generate work notifications in SAP for equipment maintenance and issue tracking.Create and manage purchase requisitions in SAP for warehouse supplies and materials.Safety and Compliance : Adhere to all workplace safety regulations and procedures, ensuring the safe operation of warehouse equipment.Participate in regular safety audits and maintain a clean, organized work area to prevent accidents.Follow health, safety, and security (HSS) protocols to minimize risks.Warehouse Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance on warehouse equipment, including forklifts and material handling tools.Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse area to support efficient operations.Team Collaboration : Work closely with the Team Lead and other departments (i.E. Pulp Finishing), as required, to meet production demands.Participate in team meetings to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Role RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Valid Driver's License with a clean driver’s abstract.Previous warehouse or material handling experience is considered an asset.Valid forklift operator certification.Safety certifications (WHMIS, First Aid) are an asset.OtherMechanical Aptitude – ability to understand and operate mechanical systems and equipment used in warehouse and rail operations.Physical Capability – ability to perform physically demanding tasks related to warehouse operations, including lifting and handling materials.Computer Skills – knowledge of SAP, warehouse management systems, and other relevant software for inventory management and reporting.Communication Skills – ability to convey information clearly and effectively.Teamwork and Collaboration – ability to work effectively in a group setting, contributing to a positive and productive team environment.Problem-Solving– Capable of addressing warehouse operational challenges and finding practical solutions.
