Jump Recruitment Specialists has partnered with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) in their search for an International Registration Coordinator (12 month contract), reporting to their St. John’s, NL office.
The International Registration Coordinator will report directly to the Director, Registration. They will be responsible for the effective processing of international applications and for ensuring a cohesive, transparent and efficient registration and licensing process.
WHO THEY ARE :
Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) regulates the engineering and geoscience professions in the public interest in accordance with the NL Engineers & Geoscientists Act 2008 (Act), NL Engineers & Geoscientists Regulations 2024 (Regulations) and By-Laws. With more than 5,000 individual and 600 corporate members throughout the province, and beyond, PEGNL is accountable to the public through the provincial Department of Government Services to ensure licensed, competent and ethical practice of the professions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Registration
- Process applications for internationally educated applicants (Member-In-Training (MIT) or Professional) for review by the Director, Registration, through the receipt, coordination, monitoring, and consolidation of all documentation and assignment of fees.
- Research and liaise with other licensing bodies throughout the review of educational transcripts and institutions.
- Primary contact for World Education Service (WES), third party authentication service provider.
- Coordinate with academic evaluators including assigning files and following up as necessary.
- Administer examination registrations (NPPE and Confirmatory) and prepare notifications of results.
- Prepare applicant files for academic review by the Director of Registration.
- Communicate to applicants’ decisions of the Registration Committee or Registrar.
- Provide guidance and answer inquiries from International Applicants with respect to registration requirements and processes, in a clear and timely manner.
Competency Based Assessment (CBA)
CBA System Administration.Receive, coordinate, monitor, and consolidate all documentation for the evaluation of competencies and work experience of internationally educated applicants in the CBA reporting system.Review applicant’s CBA report, assign reports to CBA Assessors for assessment, and prepare draft resubmission letters to applicants when competencies require rework.Administration
Provide a pleasant and welcoming professional first point of contact for the organization over the phone and in-person, in the absence of, and to support the Office Manager.Respond to general inquiries from members and the public, received via phone, email or in-person.Direct inquiries (phone, email or in-person) to appropriate staff member, in the absence of, and to support the Office Manager.Assist members and permit holders with account issues.Perform additional duties as required.JOB REQUIREMENTS :
3 to 5 years of administration experience is preferred.Strong oral and written communication skills.Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills.Exceptional interpersonal skills.Comfortable dealing with members of the public.Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office preferred) and the ability to learn new software as required.Ability to effectively work within a team and independently, to review and process sensitive material with strict confidentialityCome join a great team!
