Location : Calgary / Edmonton - Hybrid

Employment Type : Initial contract until July 2025

Our enterprise client is seeking a Network System Administrator for a 6-month contract opportunity with the potential to extend for another 6 months

The Network System Administrator with and cybersecurity experience is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network systems. This role involves configuring network hardware and software, ensuring robust security measures, and protecting the organization's network infrastructure from cyber threats. This role will support the cybersecurity transformation program which includes Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) transition to in-house resources, as well as implementation of new capabilities (administrative and technical) to improve the overall cybersecurity maturity.

• System Implementation : Design and implement, configure network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to meet organizational needs.
• Firewall Management : Configure and manage firewall rules and policies to protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• System Integration : Integrate network systems to SIEM including intrusion detection / prevention systems (IDS / IPS) and antivirus solutions.
• Network Monitoring : Continuously monitor network performance and security, identifying and addressing potential issues.
• Incident Response : Respond to and mitigate network security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Documentation : Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, security policies, and procedures.
• Compliance : Ensure network systems comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Training and Support : Provide training and support to IT staff and end-users on network security, best practices and procedures.
• Continuous Improvement : Stay updated with the latest network technologies and cybersecurity trends, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
