Job description

Job Title : Senior Analyst, Risk Governance (Remote - Ontario)

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Risk Governance on behalf of our client, a leading financial services firm. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension. The role is remote , but candidates must be located in Ontario. The compensation for this role is $48-50 per hour .

About the Role :

As a Senior Analyst, Risk Governance, you will be responsible for assisting with a variety of regulatory projects, focusing on the renewal of key offering documents and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. You will work closely with a diverse set of internal teams, including Compliance, Legal, Product, Portfolio Management, and Finance, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Innovation and process improvement are highly valued, and you will play a key role in streamlining operations and enhancing existing procedures.

What You'll Do :

  • Governance & Compliance Support : Assist with the administration of the Independent Review Committee (IRC), including gathering information and preparing meeting materials.
  • Document Management : Support the annual renewal of offering documents, including key compliance-related materials for exempt funds.
  • Regulatory Oversight : Help document internal reviews and updates to meet regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to relevant standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Partner with various teams to gather necessary data, update procedures, and prepare training or internal resources as needed.
  • Business Continuity Planning : Assist with related tasks and ensure that the continuity framework is well-supported.
  • Team Collaboration : Provide support across various duties and act as a backup for other team members when required.

What You Need to Succeed :

  • Experience & Background : The ideal candidate will have a legal, compliance, or controls background, with experience in the financial services or investment industry. Prior experience in a mutual fund firm is highly valued, but transferable skills from related industries are also welcome.
  • Skills & Abilities :
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong MS Office proficiency, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive and adaptable attitude.
  • Qualifications :

  • Industry Courses : Industry certifications such as the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Branch Manager's Course, or similar are highly desirable.
