Under the leadership of the Director, Global & Indigenous Initiatives, the experienced Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Global Village program and contributing to its future growth.

This requires experience in project and volunteer management, compliance and communication with a wide range of stakeholders.

The Program Manager, Global Village is a key member of the Habitat for Humanity team and has exceptional organizational skills, experience delivering projects through the entire project management cycle, a passion for and experience in international development and a love for working with volunteers to accomplish amazing things.

Your Impact

As a valued member of our team, you will help advance our strategy and mission of helping more families secure safe and affordable homes through :

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Facilitate the development / update of internal Global Village processes, procedures, and policies ensuring documents and databases are complete and meet compliance requirements.
  • Develop and deliver annual Global Village work plans and budgets working closely with relevant teams domestically and internationally.
  • Provide financial oversight and management to the Global Village teamsincluding drafting and reviewing budgets, expense reports, agreements, annual plans, financial acquittals, facilitating transfers and tracking donations and payments.
  • Oversee the Global Village safety and security procedures with relevant staff including policy review and providing training, with a particular focus on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and crisis management.
  • Develop and roll out the Global Village Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning plan including data collection, analysis, reporting, drafting of mid-year and annual reports, conducting reviews, and supporting impact and external evaluations that supports continuous strengthening of the Global Village program.

VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT

  • Manage volunteer logistics, working closely with country program offices, local Habitats, and volunteer team leaders for builds in Canada and internationally.
  • Manage the Global Village registration and fundraising processes including developing annual schedules and individual fundraising platforms for volunteers.
  • Manage all inquiries including but not limited to registration, fundraising, build budgets, tax receipts, reconciliation reports and work closely with finance to transfer funds to hosting Habitat offices.
  • Develop, organize, and deliver trainings to volunteers and team leaders according to Global Village standards.
  • Provide support to volunteer team leaders and host country coordinators on all aspects of a Global Village build including planning finances, logistics, participant selection and safety in accordance with Habitat for Humanity policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the Global Village emergency management procedures with team leaders and provide emergency support when teams are deployed.
  • Facilitate the development of an engagement pathway for Global Village participants including connections to local Habitat offices and long-term engagement activities.
  • Build mutually respectful relationships with volunteers communicating via email, phone, and video and messaging platforms.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, fair, and participatory environment for volunteers.

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Coordinate the development of program communications collateral with relevant teams across the organization to ensure appropriate Global Village messaging in internal and external material.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of a Global Village communication strategy in coordination with Communications & Partnerships teams.
  • Develop and maintain the Global Village website with the most up to date information including, build schedule, fundraising resources, and FAQs.
  • Proactively identify and share compelling stories, anecdotes, and updates from the Global Village program.
  • Serve as liaison between Habitat Canada and other Habitat offices in Canada and internationally, with staff, volunteers, and team leaders.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with a range of stakeholders, including local and national governments, private sector, and civil society to support Global Village.
  • Represent Habitat Canada at national and international conferences, meetings and events and engage in community outreach and public speaking about Habitat’s work.
  • Educate and advise prospective participants about the Global Village program and serve as a resource to those who are considering or planning Global Village builds.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience working with the Project Cycle planning, monitoring, and implementing complex projects with specific experience in volunteer management.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline, preferably in international development, non-profit management, or volunteer management.
  • Intermediate financial literacy skills including creating, reviewing, and interpreting budgets, reports, spreadsheets, and audits.
  • Experience conducting training, facilitating workshops, and public speaking.
  • Excellent cross-cultural interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts, coach, and develop internal and external relationships.
  • Experience working with web based and digital platforms such as Team Razor, Luminate Online, Raiser’s Edge, NXT, Mailchimp, Qliksense, SharePoint and Microsoft suite applications.
  • Excellent ability to develop clear, concise, and well-organized written materials.
  • Experience with Peer-to-Peer fundraising.
  • Fluency in written and oral languages other than English would be an asset.
  • Experience implementing Safeguarding within the project cycle would be an asset.

Salary Range

70,000 75,000 CAD
