Do you have experience in defined benefit pension plan administration? Would you like to be part of a dynamic team that leverages technology to deliver quality administration services in a supportive and team-oriented environment?

This is a fully remote role, offering you the flexibility to perform your responsibilities within the parameters of our work model. As a Specialist, DB Administration, reporting to the team manager, you will perform a wide range of day-to-day and cyclical defined benefit plan administration services and provide ad hoc client support, while also supporting less experienced associates. You will be exposed to excellent growth and development opportunities to enhance your defined benefit administration expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, manipulate, reconcile, and review participant data – identifying and resolving issues as they arise
  • Calculate various types of benefits and prepare event statements and payment authorizations from a pension administration system or manually
  • Prepare annual member statements
  • Calculate PAs, PARs, and PSPAs
  • Perform all work in accordance with rigorous quality control and audit requirements, maintaining complete audit trails
  • Interpret and apply the provisions of the plans and the various applicable laws
  • Create / update process documentation
  • Produce ad hoc reports
  • Perform user acceptance testing
  • Recognize and raise quality issues to the manager in a timely manner
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and sense of urgency to ensure client and participant expectations are consistently met
  • Manage workload and priorities in a high pressure, high volume environment
  • Back up and support other team members as required
  • Coach and train less experienced staff
  • Participate in training, special projects and other duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years progressive defined benefit administration experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of defined benefit plan design basics
  • Excellent English-language oral and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Professional client-focused manner and diplomacy
  • Ability to organize, set priorities, manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Math, Business Administration, Statistics or related field, with a strong academic record
  • French language fluency, CEBS or RPA designation, and completion of PPAC courses are an asset
