Summary
Network Security Engineers offer support for a wide variety of network security–related devices, including firewalls, proxies, IDS / IPS, VPNs, and others. Technologies include cloud providers (AWS, Azure, OCI) and vendors such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, F5, and Juniper. The role is a 1‑year contract with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities
Device upkeep and maintenance, ensuring configuration consistency across client‑managed platforms.
Participate in change management, device patching schedules, and security advisory reviews.
Troubleshoot network incidents and assist lower‑level support resources.
Validate complex infrastructure changes in lab / sandbox environments.
Stay current with the latest security trends and cutting‑edge network technologies.
Ensure technical documentation is up to date and accurately logged.
Knowledge transfer and participation in on‑call rotation.
Document all relevant activities and actions to maintain a viable security audit trail.
Test supported devices in a lab environment, ensuring firmware upgrades are applied safely and devices continue to protect customer environments from latest threats.
Qualifications
3+ years of network operations experience, 1+ year of network security experience (firewalls, network access, security controls).
Strong knowledge of the TCP / IP protocol suite, routing (BGP), and cloud computing (AWS, Azure).
Proven client‑management experience and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks within established time frames.
Self‑motivated, able to work independently without direct supervision, and meets tight deadlines.
Flexibility in work schedule.
Cloud vendor certifications (AWS, Azure) and networking certifications (CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSA, CompTIA Security+) are preferred.
