43 to $61,567.17 (pro-rated based on 14 hours per week)ResponsibilitiesReporting to a Research Scientist, you will provide technical assistance for projects led by the Research Scientists.

This involves assisting with day-to-day operations of a project to meet the research objectives and commitments with collaborating partners and funding agencies.

On a daily basis, you may be working on one or more research projects. This position may conduct fieldwork in support of data acquisition missions which may require both indoor and outside working environments.

QualificationsQualifications and Occupational Experience : The minimum educational qualification for this position is a diploma and / or a degree in a field related to the nature of the research project such as plant biology, botany, environmental science, and / or geography.

M.Sc. related to those fields will be considered an asset.You have a minimum of two years (full time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in a research environment which includes fieldwork and plant identification of Nova Scotia flora as well as conducting and planning workshops related to plant propagation.

Previous experience working with, fostering relationships with, and building partnerships with Mi'kmaq communities and non-profit organizations, is required due to the work of this position.

Proven experience working with industry and community partners to complete a project on time and on budget.You have experience in planning, setting up, and conducting research plant-based research, as well as plant sampling, soil sampling, and nutrient analysis.

You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, R programming for statistical analysis.

You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology;

and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.Experience supporting / providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.

You have proven records and information management skills and abilities.You have strong project management skills related to research activities.
